I had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful family a couple weeks ago and I’m pretty sure I meet my daughters twin! I had so much fun capturing their fantastic family, and then heading inside to play in Ava’s room! Her room was a little girl’s (and some big girls) dream room!! Thank you again Kelly for having me to your home, it was so much fun and I can’t wait to do it again!!

 

I almost forgot this one! If you hire me to do your family photos I’m going to probably get your kids roaring like lions!! And that brings me to my next photo…

When I sat down with Cassi for her consultation I asked her all the normal questions I ask potential clients and as she kept answering I kept thinking, oh please book me!! Their wedding is going to be so much fun, I can’t wait. For starters there’s a barn. Second there’s a band, and not just any band, but The Bluegrass Comet All Stars, one of my favorite local bands!! And of course third (and maybe this should be first) there is Cassi and Jeff. Two very cool, very laid back people that made this session so much fun! Guys you are the reason I love my job so much and I can’t wait to meet your friends and family on wedding day! And just to make everyone a little jealous I have to tell you their plans for their honeymoon, Hawaii and a tree house…what?!?! Yeah I was a little jealous too.

I think this next shot is one of my favorite. I feel like it sums these two up. Cassi totally cute and playful, Jeff calm, cool, collected! You two are a perfect match!!

Thank you again Cassi and Jeff for booking me and trusting me to be part of your wedding day! I can’t wait until June 23, 2012!! And thank you Jeff for letting me push you way out of your comfort zone and still liking me when it was all done!!

We went out to scout locations for a big shoot I have coming up, and I thought hey why not try and take a few photos of them while we’re at it…That is just so funny to even write and reread! What was I thinking!!?? It’s hard enough to take out all three and keep an eye on them by myself, but add in a photo shoot and it just was complete chaos! It was fun, but next time either dad needs to be with us, or I’m just going to have to leave the camera home. Here are a few of the out takes…

My first shot.

Gus was totally NOT on board for getting his photo taken with his brother and sister!

Audrey was getting a little frustrated with Gus.

Then I started with individual shots of each kid. This was going really good, until…


They started running through each other’s shots and trying to make each other mad. Why do kids do this!? I knew we were going to have to wrap things up soon. It was time to go home, eat and relax!! This is my favorite shot of Audrey, this is her “Mom, Finn is in my personal space!”  look.

And there were tears…(I love how he’s still smiling, kind of)

And someone, I’m not going to name names, ate some dirt…

So we left. But all in all it was a great morning with my kids and I had a blast NOT getting a “good” shot of all three of them together!

Through this journey of transformation I contacted Alex Mera to start work on a new logo for me. Well he happens to be the husband of Amanda Egan (now Amanda Mera) another very talented wedding photographer that I happen to be friends with and had the honor of shooting her wedding last September. When I told Alex my new name he emailed back saying wow what a coincidence that Amanda had a similar name picked out for her company! Well I’m not surprised Amanda and I quite often have been on the same path (starting a career, family changes..ect..) and quite often have viewed certain issues the same. Well she unveiled her new company name and logo today and I am so excited for her!!! I can honestly say I know exactly how she’s feeling. Nervous, excited, kind of sick to your stomach, but overall positive and happy to see where the future takes you and your new company name. I wanted congratulate Amanda on an amazing job well done! I know Alex did the logo for her and he captured her spirit perfectly! It’s an honor to know these two together, and separate as people and artists! You should also check out her new blog and enter her give away, she has some pretty neat stuff she’s giving out, especially you Christy Botts…I could see a new pair of Chucks in your future!!!

Amanda the blog looks awesome, and I can’t wait until you launch the new site next week…Oh and happy birthday early!

I had the pleasure of shooting Sarah and Adam’s wedding a couple of years ago and since then their family has grown by two boys! I can’t not say it enough how

lucky I am to have such awesome clients! I have had the pleasure of seeing Sarah and Adam’s family grow over the last couple of years from hearing about when they bought their house and were re-doing the kitchen to “we’re having a baby” to “we’re expecting #2!”.

And over the last couple of years Sarah has been amazing to my children from giving us books for Audrey when she was born, to a Johnny Cash onsie for Finn-which Gus is now wearing! :) To just last week giving us a bag of cicada shells that my daughter was

collecting to turn in to the Museum for a deer Antler-which she got this past weekend! Thank you Sarah and Adam for including me to come along in your family’s journey…I can’t wait to photograph the boys more in the future and hopefully in a new house! :)

You two are so fantastic and such awesome parents! I am so happy for you guys and you really do make beautiful babies!!

The shot below is one of my favorites, and just absolutely priceless! Don’t worry Louie you’ll be his size very soon……
